Postmodern Times Study Score

This is the Postmodern Times Study Score. We made it with using a process called Spectral Analysis which scans the sound file and produces a set of MIDI data. Its pretty noisy, and you are supposed to refine it, but we embraced the noise. We bounced that noise off a range of digital instruments, and orchestrated these tracks. This format is called a Study Score; it is what a musician might read on the subway on the way to rehearsal. But this is the ‘Impossible Score’ — Its almost impossible to imagine a human performing this. Sound design and techniques from Alec Hall; code by Danara Sarioglu.
